Frequently Asked Questions
Of course, when filling out the quote request form (https://www.matimisu.com/preventivo), you can select the transportation service and specify the location. If you don't select the transportation service immediately, its availability will be assessed based on other scheduled appointments. Therefore, if you add it later, the service is not guaranteed.
Of course! Here are our helpful tips for transportation:
- The cake must be transported in the trunk or on the floor in the passenger seat, NOT IN THE SEAT (it is tilted) AND NOT IN YOUR HAND (it gets hot and tilts more);
- Keep the car in the shade as much as possible before picking it up, even better if with the air conditioning on (it's necessary in summer, but not necessary in winter);
- Maintain a limited speed, trying to slow down as much as possible when approaching potholes and bumps;
- Prefer early morning collection (during the summer).
Please remember that Matimisù Cakes Lab's responsibility for the products ends upon collection from the laboratory.
Yes! Some products can be made upon request based on the allergens detected among your guests. Please be sure to ask your guests if they have any allergies/intolerances so you can let us know when requesting a quote (https://www.matimisu.com/preventivo). Also, let us know if you need individual portions for those with intolerances/allergies/needs, or if you'd like the entire cake. We'll be happy to suggest alternatives.
Depending on the season and outside temperature, I'll be able to advise you on the best time to pick up your order. In any case, products should generally be stored at 4°C, avoiding humidity as much as possible. They should then be removed from the refrigerator before serving to bring them to the perfect serving temperature (generally about 2-3 hours before (in winter) and 40 minutes before (in summer) for buttercream-covered cakes, and about 30-40 minutes for all other products). Cookies, cake pops, and cakesicles can be stored at room temperature in the winter. The latter two products can be stored in the refrigerator in the summer.
Of course, and that's absolutely right! Each product comes with a label detailing specific allergens. Additionally, for cylindrical cakes, you'll also find helpful cutting tips.
We currently only handle pre-orders. The shop is only open to the public on limited occasions (e.g., Valentine's Day, Easter, etc.).
